Eye makeup, the do's and the don't's for a perfect result!
Makeup allows you to express yourself but also to enhance your natural appearance. However, some errors can cause the opposite of the desired effect. To avoid this, here are the do's and don'ts for a successful eye make-up!
Makeup offers many possibilities to express your personality and creativity. It's also an excellent way to enhance your eyes using eye shadow, mascara or even eyeliner to intensify the look. However, for optimal results, you must master certain gestures and above all avoid a few mistakes that could ruin all your efforts. Here are the do's and don'ts for a make-up worthy of a pro!
DO: Use a base
It is very often forgotten and yet it is essential for successful eye makeup! A makeup base will smooth the skin of the eyelids, help the pigments adhere better and above all prolong the wear of the eyeshadows. Apply a small portion to both eyelids before applying makeup. This little tip makes all the difference! The shadow will stay in place from morning until evening without settling into the creases of the eyelid.
DON'T: Do not remove makeup
We can't talk about makeup without talking about makeup removal! Every evening, it is important to clean your skin well and remove all makeup residue, especially around the eyes. This dries the skin in this area which is already particularly thin and fragile. When dry, it tends to mark much faster. Additionally, eyelashes and eyebrows are also much drier when coated with mascara and gel. They can then become damaged and break more easily during the night on the pillow! To avoid accelerating all these little inconveniences, gently remove your eye makeup using a two-phase makeup remover.
DO: Apply makeup in natural light
If possible, apply your makeup in natural daylight so you know what your beauty look will look like once you leave the house. Sometimes, the makeup is much stronger or, on the contrary, much lighter than you would have thought. Don't forget to do your makeup by a window! If this is not possible, use a magnifying mirror. Thanks to its magnifying effect, you will be able to see small imperfections that are not always visible under a bathroom light.
DON'T: Do not wash your brushes
Brushes are often neglected and cleaned very rarely or not at all! Because of this bad habit, bacteria develop on brushes, contaminate our makeup and therefore end up on our skin, our eyelashes and even in our eyes! It is therefore important to clean your brushes at least once a week, but every day is even better. We fill a small bowl with hot water with a little soap and swirl it around to remove all the impurities. All you have to do is rinse them with hot water and place them on a clean towel to let them dry.
DO: Blend your eye shadows
Whether you decide to wear just one color or multiple colors, blending is key to beautiful eye makeup. When you wear just one shade it helps to blend it into the skin for a lighter, more airy effect. If you opt for several shades, it helps to mix them with each other for a much more successful result.
DON'T: Forget your eyebrows
Eyebrows are an important part of the face and should not be neglected. They frame the look and harmonize the face. So, take the time to fill them in using a pencil, drawing small hatches to fill in sparse areas. We use a color close to that of the natural shade of its hair! We brush upwards to blend and apply a fixing gel so that they stay in place all day.
DO: Apply concealer after foundation
If you want to camouflage your dark circles under the eyes as well as small imperfections, concealer is your best ally. However, it must be applied after foundation which already evens out the facial skin well. All you have to do is refine it with a little concealer. Under the eyes, place it in a V shape and tap with your finger or a sponge to blend it well with the rest of the makeup.
DON'T: Not paying attention to your products
It is important to choose quality products and carefully analyze the ingredients in order to avoid any allergic reactions. In addition, it is important to check the expiration date of your makeup products because this can cause bacteria to proliferate and cause irritation to the skin and eyes.
